If you like motorcycles, relaxing at an Washington coast resort and contributing to a good cause, then consider registering for the 8th Annual Pierce County Sheriff's Benefit Motorcycle Ride. The event will take place July 17-18. The destination this year will be Long Beach, Washington and the Chautauqua Lodge. There is no two night minimum, so staying one night is certainly an option. There will be a buffet style dinner Saturday and a silent auction as well. When booking your room, please mention you are with the Pierce County Deputy Sheriff's Motorcycle Ride and you will receive a discounted room rate. To reserve a room, contact the lodge at www.chautauqualodge.com or (360) 642-4401. Check-in will start at the Albertsons parking lot located at 160th and Meridian at 7:30 a.m. on July 17. The plan is to hit the road at 9 a.m. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the Pierce County Deputy Sheriff Benevolent Fund. Organizers are asking for a $25 donation to participate in the ride. To RSVP for the ride or to find out more information, contact Sgt. Greg Stonack at 253-405-4851 or gstonac@co.pierce.wa.us, or Detective Lloyd Bird at 253 318-3907.
