Not necessarily. They are all different: playing cards, drawing numbers, drawing tickets etc. They are an organized event that the club puts on to raise money.

One of my favorite rides:
ROSLYN RIDERS POKER RIDE Sunday of Memorial day weekend ... May 24th
LOCATION: Playfield HY 903- Roslyn Exit I 90 at Cle Elum....
CONTACT: Ralph Griffin 674-2404
I really like this ride. It usually goes along the John Wayne trail, crosses water, through old coal mines... sometimes you see wild life. In the past, this ride has had some of the best prizes I have ever seen at a poker ride.
I am planning on going.

I think on May 10, we have a BCHW ride out near my house, it's called the Fish Trap Poker Ride and it's near Fish Trap Lake. I'll post more details later.

I have wanted to go to Roslyn for years, maybe I'll be able to meet up with you for this one. John Wayne trail was another thing I'd wanted to do for years and finally got to ride part of it last summer at Thorp, may as well continue to live out my dreams LOL.

are these the rides where you play cards and have to get off and on your horse? I've never been to one where you have to dismount to play, usually the check point attendant has a can of tickets, chips or "other" game piece, and you just reach in and get one. If it is cards, they are usually (in my experience) on a dart board and you toss a dart to hit your card.

DeAnne.... if some weekend you would like to meet at Roslyn I would love to ride with you... I plan on bringing Kim from HKfarms for the poker ride, but maybe I can get her to come with me another time also.

Here is the date for the Surf's up Poker Ride On Ft. Stevens (Warrenton, OR) I WILL be there again!! Looks like they are having a guided tour as well.
The Poker Ride will be on September 20th. We will also be having an event there on May 2nd where we will be giving guided tours of our trails there. We plan to have a new trail that goes all the way through the dunes that leads to our wooded trails.
