Well I'm getting ready to bring my boys home from moms and would like to fill my barn before I do that. Anyone know of any "GOOD" local that has some type of Orchard or Timothy in it for a reasonable price? The stuff they are on now has nothing it's just grass and I've noticed Cody losing weight so need to start feeding something more.

My mom pulled up some timothy on craig's list in Centralia for $7.00 a bale.

I seen an add on craigslist in Graham for some Orchard Grass / Timothy mix some Clover too. Horse approved. He is asking $6.00 a bale if you pull it off the field but I know nothing about the grass grown on this side of the Mt. Is it gonna be okay? Will it have the nutrients that I am gonna need for Cody? I don't know that stuff lol...

The only way to really know about any hay is to have it tested. I feed w. wa. local hay, have been for a few years now, and then in the winter I supplement with Northwest vitamins and oats/beet pulp, depending on the horse I'm feeding. The other option is to feed the E. wa hay. In the end it may cost the same to feed either way, but I like to have plenty of forage for my horses to munch on.
