My little sister has a pregnant mare due in a month and the lady is charging her prices like you would pay a big jumping facility around here. In a month her mare is going to pop and she wil have to pay for two self care stalls and it will probably like $600 a month until the lady says/or they think it is ok for the baby to go back outside. That could be months. Anyway if you guys have any suggestions for boarding a mare with foal in that area please give us some ideas. I figured since the most covered area on this site is WA yuo guys might have some input. She just moved there with her boyfriend for his work so she is very limited. She is 19 and has lived in her home town till now. She works at Fred Meyers and her name is Stacey Butterfield.

omg... I don't know anywhere that starts charging for a foal until AFTER it's weaned!!! I'm not familiar with Everett either, but hope you do find somewhere more realistic with their pricing! Jeez most horse babies I know are BORN outside this time of year, and stay that way until winter comes round again! (I'll see if I know anyone who knows of anywhere up there too, there's got to be something else for her!) What part of Everett is she in?

Not really sure of the area. I just talked to her firnd and she was upset that she was going to have to pay for two self-care stalls to have a foaling stall. I am also not sure about whos idea it is that the baby has to be foaled inside the facility manager's or my sisters. My sister has been really stubborn about this baby cause it is her first mare she has had foal. My other sister has had lots of them and is much more laid back about it. My little sister has a different way of theinking of things but she will change with time. I will find out about the area and get back to you.

Sarah, Please tell her to not even consider EDEN FARMS STABLES in Snohomish...its a nightmare from you know where! Have her check Craigslist. I have checked most of the places in the area but I have too many horses and there isn't room. In general, most places won't charge until the baby is weaned in a separate stall....they are scamming her. PM me and I'll give you my contact info and I will help her because I know what is out there and am currently looking also. I just have 2 too many horses....most places have only one opening.

I think it is two stalls cause they don't have a foaling stall.

In order for her to foal out, she is taking up two stalls. Which is actually double board. Obviously they don't have a foaling stall, but once the the baby is born even if it's put on stall rest it should only need one stall. But for the time foaling you will have to pay more.
Sorry I am not much help with it comes to facilities in that area. Good luck with your search.
