Some of you have seen the information in the Tack area, but I want to officially post her here.
My mustang x mare needs a home. I am in no big hurry, I am more concerned with a good home for her.
Here is her information: 22 year old mustang x mare. We think she's crossed with either Belgian or Halflinger. Just over 14HH.
Super easy keeper. No grain or supplements needed, just good quality grass hay. Great with hooves for farrier, and will load in any kind of trailer. No bucking or kicking. She likes to lay her ears back but won't actually bite. She loves to trail ride, and likes to step out. She will test you as a rider, so not for a new beginner, but one with enough confidence is fine. My 12 year old daughter can ride her with no problem, and she has never had any lessons and is self taught and fairly new. She does have a roach back, so you need a very well padded saddle for her, bareback is super painful!
I worm her every 2 months, her hooves get trimmed every 2-3 months, and she will be up to date on her vaccines by next week.
She will need a dental exam/teeth floating - I haven't done it in 2 years. No problems with chewing or digesting though.
She loves bad weather and never needs a blanket. She will stand out in the rain when she has a choice.
She is a food hog, so it's best to separate her when feeding, but our little gelding pushes her around. She gets along with both mares and geldings, but there will be lots of squealing and striking at first. She can be a bitchy mare, but she is a great horse with an incredible heart. She is very loyal and gets attached to her 'person'. And if she really likes you alot, she will give you kisses with her very flexible lips :-)
Please let me know if you are interested by sending me an email or a PM.
