Those are the horses I went and looked at!!!The palamino is actually more of an orangish buckskin and it is the hermaphidite! The POA is a paint, so I think it is some sort of pony cross. The white one looks like a Thoroughbred/QH cross. That is the one that was soooo sweet, but once I got the bridle out, it went crazy!
The paint is really thin, and its feet do need trimmed. I think if someone had the time, they could be great horses. Just not what my family needs.
The paint has a halter on, but when I got a hold of it, it about ripped my arms out of socket, and it kept rearing up. I am sure an experienced horse person could bring them around to being great horses. Keep us posted if any of you go look at them, or buy them. I am curious to know if they turn out to be good horses, and if I should be kicking myself for not buying them!

ok, I might get flamed for this, (although on this board we are all pretty good about letting everyone express their opinions) but i feel these kinds of horses (not specifically these, but horses in this kind of situation, not their fault of course, and any horse who doesn't have a loving owner or benefactor doting on it, could end up this way) are why slaughter is just plain necessary.... it just sounds like with the lack of care they've had, and the bad habits they have developed, an end to their misery might be the kindest way to go, rather than someone passing on the problems onto someone else for a cheap price....

No DeAnne, I do agree with you. There are some horses that just need to go to slaughter. Sad as that is, same with some cows...and so on! I am experienced with horses, but not enough to break the bad habbits these ones seem to have. I don't have the time, or the resources to do it. That is why I thought someone with a training background may be able to bring them back around. But I do agree, if you are not experienced, these horses will not be a good match, even though they are such a low price. Was it Zim that said...cheap horses are cheap for a reason! That was a good theroy in this situation.

I agree as well... before someone gets hurt... or spends a bunch of money TRYING to fix horses that sound as though they have A LOT of issues.

I'd have to agree...get into only what you KNOW you can handle in the best manner for you and the horse. Bottom line, don't do it unless you are prepared to go all the way...all or none I'd say. I would also say that a lot of the rescue groups are just glorified horses traders any way. Cheap for a reason...

Yikes I had no idea those were the same horses. I just saw some horses for sale and figured I would put them up here if someone was interested. Now I feel kinda bad. The person definatley is vague about how they really are just their feet and need to be worked with. Well I am glad to know that someone has seen them and can warn unsuspecting people.

Just wanted to let you all know, all three of these horses were sold. The girl emailed me, and told me she got rid of them. Apparently the white one warmed up after a bit of coaxing, and they loaded her right into the trailer. The paint pony was a little harder, but they finally got her loaded. As for the hermaphidite, it went through several fences, got cut up pretty bad, people wanted their money back, but eventually called a vet out, got it fixed up, and ended up buying it. Whew....glad I didn't buy them!

*LOL* I like the ad... the two mares are called females but the other one is not mentioned at all.
Well, hopefully someone can turn them around, I guess. Or it was a killer buyer in disguise.
I had a friend, a long, long time ago selling a Arab colt. This rodeo guy came out and said he was looking for a rodeo horse. This was a dinky little arab.... and only barely 2 yrs old. It was very fishy and we figured he was either going to do something bad to the colt or send him to the killers... needless to say, the colt didn't go home with him. Actually, it went home with a young girl that acted like she knew what she was doing. Come to find out a few months later, I'm riding my Anglo-Arab in a jumping clinic (yeah... once upon a time, I jumped) and she was riding this colt. I went right to the instructor and told them exactly what age this little gelding was. And they didn't allow her to jump at all, she just worked on poles. The girl said, "Duh, I didn't know..."
YOU DID TOO! STUPID GIRL!

I am the idiot that bought those horses. These people lied and said how great they were and me being a sucker bought it. I gave the pony and buckskin hermaphradite to some friends and kept the white one she is very sweet and with some work I think she'll be alright. The people that sold these, were only feeding grain and no hay at all. So I'm sure they were hopped up on cheap sweat feed. Wish I had read these post first!!! My husband asked for his money back because these people told us that he/she would load fine.

Hey Tammy.
What's your friend's plan with the pony and hermaphradite? Obviously these horses definately peaked the interest of our members. Hopefully you get yours turned around. Do you have any pictures of the horse/horses?

I'm not sure about the other two, possibly slaughter. This one is a little stiff in the hind quarters, my husband just informed me of this. We'll see what happens. My husband thought she might make a good brood mare. As for the fencing that the hermaphredite ran through it was only 3 foot, field fencing with a lead rope for a gait. Crazy people!!! All three horses had cuts on their tales where a sale tag may have hung. I beleive that these people went to the auction and bought these horses for nothing and realized that they screwed up so they thought they'ed pass the buck. The buck stops here!!!

Your probably right about the tag, that's interesting. Sounds like these people decided to get into horses, went to the sale bought these three and learned what horse ownership is all about and they failed badly.
I hope your not offended by any of these posts. This ad on Craigslist definately peaked everyone's interest, that's for sure.
What's the deal with the POA?

THe poa is a paint cross, I guess? Not really sure, just know that it was way older than was stated, maybe mid twenties. You could not walk around it or it would try to kick you. It was not a sound horse for it's age. They said that it didn't hold weight right. they said sometimes it was overweight and sometimes under. Well it was deffinately under when we saw it. These people also had a little mini horse that they kept in a 10 X 10 round pen that was only eating sweet feed and needs major hoof work. Someone needs to look into these people. I am not offended at all, actually I was just surprized to find this on here. I am enjoying all the posts.

My husband thought she might make a good brood mare. Tell your hubby just because she has a uterus, doesn't make it right to use it! (no offense intended, just doesn't sound like she's breeding material) poor thing sounds like she just need a ton of TLC, and feed.
