Clover is a late 20's mare, most likely breeding stock Appaloosa (she has the stripey appy feet!). She is 14.0, chestnut, and in excellent health except that she cannot chew hay - she needs grass hay pellets & senior mush twice a day to maintain her weight. She is well broke with a killer neck rein and would make an excellent trail horse for a child or petite adult. She does like to go - she has a fast walk and will try to break into a jog. She's not going to run off with you but isn't going to be a fit for a very timid rider. She rides well in a bitless bridle, hunt or western. I've ridden her twice inside and once outside and she's easier inside (less desire to trot) but was really happy about being outside and clearly wanted to go off and find a trail. Longes quietly - would definitely work for little kid longe lessons. The only thing she spooks at is flash photography. Nothing else has bothered her a bit. She's been ridden at a horseshow and in a crowded warm-up arena without incident. Clover is offered on gift contract (free but you must return her if you cannot keep her) to a good home. She prefers the outside life but a waterproof blanket is appreciated. She can take care of herself in a herd but needs to eat separately, twice a day. Here is her "before and after" picture...I got her free off of Craigslist and my friend and I have done all of the fattening up work including major dental, feet, etc. - she is ready to go! And under saddle You can e-mail me directly at catknsn@yahoo.com if you are interested in meeting Miss Clover. She is currently in Battleground, WA.
