Here are some pics from the ride: L to R: Becky(can't remember mare's name) Me on Jay, Nancy on Chulo and Debbie on Cheyenne The best view. Jay was moving, so that's why things are kinda blurry. Me & Jay. It was hard to get pictures of him and when I was on him. He was all GO, GO, GO. No standing still for him. The White River. Wish I could've gotten more, but it was hard due to him not wanting to stop. Even after going up some of those switchbacks he didn't want to rest. He would make an awesome endurance horse. There was this one switchback where at a few canter strides there was a hard turn to the right going up hill. Without skipping a beat at a canter-NO PROBLEM. I tell ya what if you weren't prepared for it, it would've thrown ya off balance. There was one point where he was slowing his walk and acted like something was coming to get him. (Shaky nervous) I'm like 'What the He!!?' All of a sudden this riderless horse comes up the trail and I caught him. My friend Deb goes down the trail looking for someone. We start heading down, I was ponying this other horse. After a little while Deb comes up the trail, riding double with the owner. (Her horse has NEVER ridden double before) What had happened was she tied him to a tree at a check point and he got it untied. Apparently he got loose the same way at camp. Someone said she doesn't tie very well. All in all a good ride. If you gals go on the one next month, have fun. Awesome riding there.

Looks like a fun day Jay! Thanks for sharing your pictures. Lucky for that lady you caught her horse, sounds like she needs to learn how to tie better. I know with my gelding I have to make sure to make it a solid tie because he can untie himself if he wants too.

I love riding up there, especially when it's warm out and you've got the sunshine, but the shade of the trees.

I've never been on one of the 'organized' rides. I may have to one of these days. Sounds like it was fun and had some beautiful scenery.

Sniff Sniff - I should have gone I couldn't find a baby sitter as Lucky now doesn't like Rebecca to ride double with me anymore. Good thing we didn't go 'cause Roan came by my house last night(totally unannounced - but okay). She went with me to feed and she did her Reake thing on him AND POPPED HIS HIP BACK IN PLACE! I thought tis a good thing we didnt go and thats maybe why he has been pi&&y to Rebecca riding double? Who knows but, we'll see tommorrow in a little walking and see how he does and maybe we'll make the Sept ride for my birthday! Sniff sniff - sorry I missed this year gals

I thought it was on there too? It's Sept 8 in the Elbe Hills. This is the third in the series put on by the Pierce County Sheriff's Mounted Posse. Entry is only 10 dollars per card. I believe first rider is out @ 9 (maybe 8).

Is Elbe fairly flat riding?

Ummm, if you stay on the lower Elksper trails. It splits for a longer ride. The shorter ride doesn't have a whole lot of climbing. I would say the longer trail is pretty close to the way Buck Creek is, maybe a lil' more climbing and switchbacks.
