There is a beautiful Thoroughbred stud at the farm where I board. He belongs to an older man in Wisconsin who recently suffered a stroke and has rapidly declining health. Soon she's going to be looking for a new home for him, and I thought I would mention him here, only b/c it can be so hard to find a good home for a 9-10year old stallion, who is broke but not sound for more than light riding. He's registered and well-bred (sired by an Irish stud, In Excess... www.pedigreequery.com/in+excess). He throws beautiful babies, and she says is very calm on the ground and has a great personality. Nothing specific has been stated, but it sounds like he might actually end up being given away, or sold for a very low cost. She (barn owner) is mostly concerned about the difficulty of finding a GOOD home with an experienced owner who will treat him right. I don't want to see him end up a casualty of his owner's "family feud," since the children (adults) want him to liquidate the herd ASAP. Just wanted to put some feelers out and see if anyone could suggest options... I've never rehomed a stud! So if anyone just happens to be looking for a nice Thoroughbred stud... I might happen to know one...
