Thank you -
I am on kid and lamb watch right now, actually just came in from checking them. I have this last ewe to lamb and then they are done until early spring of 2010.
The goats, I have one due in 5 days, and 2 due in 19 and 20 days. I am picking up a new buck and 4 new does to breed by the end of the month!!! I am having alot of fun with this and everything is going well at the ranch - although DH is threating to start purchasing old junk cars and lining the property if I buy any more goats! LOL!

Love looking at the website. I could not have asked for a better place for our goaty girls to go, and I mean that!
I saw you were looking for a Blackbelly ram, do you know of anyone who has Shetland sheep? We have a really nice and correct little ram that I would like to offer for stud. Also, his half brother, who is the same age and half the size is a little ram as well. Im thinking he is a dwarf line of the Shetland, is there such a thing?

Just to let you know - Boots is no longer on the ranch. She went with her bestest buddy Trisha to a home in Moscow about a month ago. A couple came up to purchase Trisha and fell in love with Boots also and wanted them both. I was hesitant, but the people I know and they have 40 acres for them to play on. They also have horses and cattle.
Boots will actually be kidding this week with them - bred to my Boer - and really I thought that Lola would have an issue with momma being gone - but you know - Lola has turned into my nicest doe. Not pushy, but always comes for lovings and treats without being rude (like most of them). She seems happier now that her over bearing momma is not here. Lola is due to kid in about 18 days and she is bred to my blue eyed black and white nigerian. I already have people waiting to see what she is going to throw - but I might keep a doeling from her - we will see.
As far as shetlands - I don't know really of anyone. However the "small" one more then likely had his growth stunted from cocci overload - which if it doesn't kill them when babies, will drastically stunt their growth. I think that you can use corrid (from the farm store) on them also - otherwise you can purchase Di-Methox from jefferspet.com or valleyvet.com dirt cheap! I would suggest the liquid, as there is no way you will be able to use the powder for just a couple animals.

Hmm, interesting. The little black one is not mine, but I will tell the barn owner about that. We had got Hershey, our little moorit ram, and the barn owner fell in love with his temperment. A co-worker asked me if I wanted his brother and I told the barn owner about it, so they took it. They were born at the same place but raised for a year on different properties.
He is literally like half the size of Hershey, horns are the same size in relation to body size, he is just sooo small! His eyes almost bulge, and his overall appearance reminds me of a dwarf.
Thats ok about Boots, I know you wouldnt let her go anywhere that would mistreat her or anything. SHe can be a real pain, lol. Lola has always been a little doll.
One of these days I need to bring the girls up to see her.

Babies were born last night!! We had twins born last night - a doeling and a buckling...... Currently the doeling is on hold for retainment pending DNA testing. The buckling is available as a buck or wether, if anyone is interested in him. I should know if the doeling will be for sale within 2 weeks. Buckling - Doeling - More pictures to come!!!
