I purchased a small herd of American Blackbelly sheep for breeding our own meat to help control hubby's diabetes - well I do believe we are having lambs way before we thought - LOL!
I have 5 ewes and come to find out they could start lambing in the next month..... so we will have lambs for sale also!
We will sell for meat or pet, your choice! I will let you know when they arrive. If you would like to reserve a lamb or 2 or 3 now, just let me know. They are very good meat and great weed eaters. NO SHEARING and beautiful coats!

I LOVE lamb, but it has to be cooked a certain way or it is NASTY - not like beef that you can put just any spices or marinades on. I make a heck of a lamb stew!!!
But I have a taste for it as I lived in Turkey for almost 3 years and that is the main food is lamb.

Hmm... next time I am through that neck of the woods, I'll have to stop by for some famous lamb stew. I tried it once when I was about 14(ish) but I made it myself.. and it was DISGUSTING!!! But like you said.. it probably has to be cooked a certain way. I heard of a meal that was made with Lamb cabobs with a yogurt sauce.. and it sounds REALLY YUMMY, but then I am worried about the lamb and I wouldn't even know how to make it. You'll have to make it for me sometime, he he. Like how I am volunteering you, lol.

Stephanie - you come up to the area and you are more then welcome to come to the ranch and I will make you lamb. The lamb dish that you are talking about has a yougurt/mint sauce on it. The middle eastern countries also do this yougart/mint mixed with cucumbers in it as a side dish.
Let me know if/when you would like to come up!!!! We LOVE to entertain people at the house (much more so then going into town!!)
