My female canary laid eggs in september and much to my surprise they hatched out on the 14th. Now I have 3 Male ( I'm almost sure they are male canarys that need to find new homes. If your interested PM me.

Well now I know that the dark brown one is a male and the one with the most yellow.
I saw them both singing today!
Still waiting to see if the yellow and brown one will sing.

Right Female canarys will say "cheep and that is about it.
In the"pet stores" you will usually ONLY ever see male canaries.
The song a mature male canary sings is so preaty. To me it's very soothing.

I do like canarys. I love to listen to them sing. I would love to have one, but I think having just gotten a new puppy and already having a large parrot is enough for me to deal with right now. Besides I have lots and lots of outside birds to watch and listen too. I have a ton of american goldfinches that eat at the feeders I have out.

Actually a canary is a LOT easyer to have around then a puppy! ;D ;D ;D
Right now it is sooooo neat listening to three canarys sing! My favorite of the younsters is the darkest yellow one. He has such an attitude! He will land on my hand when I am cleaning the cage or replacing the food dishes. Then he will just look at me like he is say. "Hurry up all ready"

Right now all my canaries that I had for sale are sold.
But I had so much fun raising the last batch I put the mom and dad back together and now she is setting on 4 more eggs.
I will sell the males for $65. And the females for $30.
It will be exciting to see if they throw nothing but males like last time.
