Go down to Schoenbachler's in Orting. I just bought 1/2 a ton there a couple days ago. It's $11.00 a bale now, went up... just as gas has gone up.

Thats where my hubby just got back from and they said they don't do straight Orchard anymore it's 60% orchard and 40% alfalfa and Gunner is way too hot with any alfalfa...so I am looking for just straight Orchard for about $10-$12 a bale.

That's probably all the hay they can find right now.... last time I went and bought hay from them it was about 90% orchard.

When I go there it varies. Early on in the season, was getting straight orchard. Now it is a mix. I think it is what they have left in their barns over there.

New hay and grass hays are going into the stacks now... I am sure it should start showing up over there soon. Do not know prices yet.... I am sure it will be close to last years, water, power and fuel, and the price of chemicals (fert. and weed killer) has doubled.....personnally I do not think we can sell ours for under 125 this year.. it may be closer to 140 a ton. Of course, those of you who can venture over this way can probably get a much better deal. (hint hint)

(hint hint) omg, I wish my barn owner could venture that way!! (then maybe board would quit going up !!) Alfalfa is all she is getting right now, and is at $220 a ton (she gets 4 tons a week!)
