I don't know too much about this mare as she belongs to a friend of mine. I do know she is AQHA registered, and 11 or 12 years old. Her name is Tips Classic Gal: Sire-Classic Tulloch and Dam-Tips Glory. www.allbreedpedigree.com/tips+classic+galYou can get all the pertinent pedigree, height, & other info from melanieozuna1020@msn.com or call Melanie at 253-347-5777.They got her for the husband in 06, but he sustained an injury shortly after, that has prevented him from riding. Here are the few things I do know about the mare. When they bought her she'd just gone through a refresher course with Donald, and was ready to have a job. Even though Honey's only had a couple of hours of riding in the last year and a half, she still knows how to do a job when someone who knows what they are doing asks her, might be a good deal for the right person. She is 100% sound, healthy, ride-able (now by) experienced youth to adults and current on vaccinations and farrier care. She hadn't been ridden for a year, when Sydney/srvogel2 saddled her up last September and rode her. Then she was ridden in a Roger Braa lesson by a 12 year old at NWHP in November, and rode like she'd been ridden the day before. This horse has a ton of potential, and is going to waste in her pasture. From what I've see, this horse would excel in a home where she was ridden consistently. updated to add asking price $2500

Whoa? I am thinking she'd better have one heck of a pedigree for that price. I am curious to see what Zim thinks of her.

I'm curious, so that I can provide feedback to the owner, what makes her price so "high" to some. Is it purely that the market is crappy, or that she doesn't have a show record, or something else? I see her as a nice young healthy rideable horse, and to the right person a good deal, as she will last them many years, and has a ton of potential to do whatever they may ask of her. I actually thought that her the price they put on her was pretty reasonable when I compared her to other horses I've seen out there that aren't as nice, young or healthy. But definitely interested as to why there is so much discussion on the price.

I personally think that she is well worth that price. IMO I think the reason some think she is priced high is cause of the horse market right now. She is a beautiful mare and looks to have a ton of potential, if I were in the market this would be what I'd be looking for in a horse!

I have met Honey and think that is a VERY fair price. She is a nice mare. Right age, and pretty easy to work with from what I have seen.
I don't know to much about her training under saddle, but when their daughter rode her at the lesson, the only bad thing was she a bit out of shape and got winded, lol. But I know she at least has the basic walk/jog/ lope and probably a lot more with a rider who knows how to get it out of her.

I think she's a pretty fair kind of mare. I like her. She's not bred like what I would be looking for, but that takes nothing away from a pretty nice kind of mare.
As to her price, I don't think that's bad at all! She's got the looks, conformation, obviously a well trained mare. Heck, the price won't even pay for the training!
THe market is crappy for the low end horse, which this mare is not. If you have a good horse, you're still going to get a good price. If I had her, she'd have a higher price tag.

In a good horse market this would be at least a $5000 horse. The color and conformation alone would get that, her breeding is ok. People really like pretty;)

I also agree that her price is fair, heck a steal! Usually a horse like that WOULD have a higher price tag on her.

I have to agree (as well) that when I saw the price, I thought it was very fair. She's a gorgeous horse and if a young girl can get on her after a year with not much problem.. then that's saying something. If I was looking for a horse, 100% I would buy her. She's gorgeous and the price is VERY reasonable for such a nice horse.
I would have to agree that it's probably because of the horse market right now but I know FOR SURE that they'll get that amount of money for her.. she's beautiful!

well I wasn`t saying the price was too high for her looks and training, but what I was trying to say is that if someone REALLY wants to sell a horse and not sit on the sale for months, then it`s too high.. IMO..I`m not sure what others were thinking about he price too high, but thats what I think.. A lot of people are having a hard time getting 1500 for a horse right now, yes she is pretty and well trained if thats what you are looking for, but it`s just not the market, but like I said if the owner doesn`t mind having her for sale and keeping her around a few months then thats fine keep the price..eventually you will find a home for her.. I would NOT pay $5000.00 for her though..but I wouldn`t pay that on any horse..IMO
