Well, unfortunately I am in a position where I can't foresee being able to keep Gunner right now. I very recently lost my job, and have other things that have to take priority at this time. (Things in life can change so quickly, and I won't go into a bunch of details). I'm offering him for sale to a great home only. He is on dreamhorse: www.dreamhorse.com/show_horse.php?form_horse_id=843492Feel free to pass on his link. Thanks DeAnne

I'm sorry DeAnne. Alaska Airlines is always hiring for customer service. The job is not easy, but the benefits are nice and the pay is better than no pay. You just have to be a non-smoker (company is self insured, so they have the right to say that).

Here's a direct link: alaskaairlines.recruitmax.com/ENG/candidates/default.cfm?szCategory=jobprofile&szOrderID=4255&szCandidateID=0&szSearchWords=&szReturnToSearch=1This one is for the Cargo facility which is a lot quieter than the airport. Some of my former co-workers are there and they like it a lot! Cargo is just north of the main terminal. I've considered transferring there at one time. Apply online and you can put me down as a referral. You get paid training. Plus after 30 days you get medical benefits and flight benefits. The flight benefits cover you, spouse, children under 18 and your parents! Awesome. We fly free, stand-by on Alaska Air and we pay a minimal service fee to fly on other carriers. My friend, Candace, got hired. She was on the WA Equestrians MSN board as CMANWILL, she hasn't posted in ages. But she loves her flight benefits. Been here for nearly a year now and almost has 100 people below her in seniority. There is a high turn over, some can handle it, some can't. I'm at work tonight. You can email me here if you want: alisa.bicandi@alaskaair.com lisa Alisa

That's so sad - I'm so sorry. Is there any way that, if you get that job you talked about, you could half-lease Gunner to someone? Or temporarily lease him until you get back on your feet?

DO you need help just temporarily or more semi permanent? I work with a rescue and might be able to find you some help with the horse.

Also DeAnne, over here in Fife, I seen a sign out for jobs. Its a Mega Blok place where they are distributing toys, it's on 70th between Valley and 20th. It's a road parallel to my road. It's a new company and I think it was looking for all positions, you might want to check that out too.
I'll keep my eyes out for anything else.

Sorry to hear you are having problems DeAnne. Email me if you need anything nwequestrian@prodigy.net or if you just want someone to vent to. My work may be hiring some more people in a few weeks. They are just finishing up the construction of our new hospital, and the place is huge! So I know we will be needing more hospital assistants and/or kennel staff. Send me an email if you think you would be interested.
Take care of yourself hon.

Im way over here in Eastern WA... wish I could help.............. Is there any chance of finding someone who would buy Gunner under the agreement that if things get better for you then you could buy him back.......... I have done that for people and people have done that for me.... I sold my horse once for 500.00 (that was all I needed to get me through the tough spot.. then bought her back when things got better for me).... If that is an option, I may be able to help you out

How's it going with the Gunner situation? Are you able to do something to where you can still keep him?

I'm still selling him. Finances suck right now, and he needs to be with someone who can keep him working. I have had him 4 and a half months, and been working with this issue he has, and have had my trainer working with him. I can't afford to keep it going, so as of now, I have him for sale as a project. He's not a perfect horse lol, so if a trainer wants to offer me something for him, I'll take it. He's come a long way since I got him and is just about perfect on the ground, but he still needs work under saddle. I think in his previous experiences people just sat on him and followed the lead horse, because he's ok with that, but if you start to ask him to work off the leg etc, he just doesn't understand and can get freaked out. (he's bucked!) Took me awhile to decipher all his quirks, and we were coming along good, but without having any money, (fuel) I can't even go see him everyday right now. My trainer has been working him though. I am hoping I don't end up having to take him to the August auction. If anyone knows any trainers who want to get a decent looking, sound healthy horse for auction prices now, send them my email!

Gunner got a new home! Some people who actually know the people that I got him from wanted him, and will work with him, and hopefully pattern him for games! I feel comfortable that he got a good new home!
